Psalms 60: Douay-Rheims and Septuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
Douay-RheimsSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
1Unto the end, in hymns, for David.Εἰς τὸ τέλος, ἐν ὕμνοις τῷ Δαυίδ.
2Hear, O God, my supplication: be attentive to my prayer,Εἰσάκουσον ὁ Θεὸς τῆς δεήσεώς μου, πρόσχες τῇ προσευχῇ μου.
3To thee have I cried from the ends of the earth: when my heart was in anguish, thou hast exalted me on a rock.
4For thou hast been my hope; a tower of strength against the face of the enemy.ὅτι ἐγενήθης ἐλπίς μου, πύργος ἰσχύος ἀπὸ προσώπου ἐχθροῦ.
5In thy tabernacle I shall dwell for ever: I shall be protected under the covert of thy wings.Παροικήσω ἐν τῷ σκηνώματί σου εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας, σκεπασθήσομαι ἐν σκέπῃ τῶν πτερύγων σου· διάψαλμα.
6For thou, my God, hast heard my prayer: thou hast given an inheritance to them that fear thy name.Ὅτι σὺ ὁ Θεὸς εἰσήκουσας τῶν προσευχῶν μου, ἔδωκας κληρονομίαν τοῖς φοβουμένοις τὸ ὄνομά σου.
7Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years even to generation and generation.Ἡμέρας ἐφʼ ἡμέρας βασιλέως προσθήσεις, τὰ ἔτη αὐτοῦ ἕως ἡμέρας γενεᾶς καὶ γενεᾶς.
8He abideth for ever in the sight of God: his mercy and truth who shall search?Διαμενεῖ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθειαν αὐτοῦ τίς ἐκζητήσει αὐτῶν;
9So will I sing a psalm to thy name for ever and ever: that I may pay my vows from day to day.Οὕτως ψαγῶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος, τοῦ ἀποδοῦναί με τὰς εὐχάς μου ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
