Psalms 19: Douay-Rheims and Septuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
Douay-RheimsSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
1Unto the end. A psalm for David.Εἰς τὸ τέλος, ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυίδ.
2May the Lord hear thee in the day of tribulation: may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee.Ἐπακούσαι σου Κύριος ἐν ἡμέρᾳ θλίψεως, ὑπερασπίσαι σου τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἰακώβ.
3May he send thee help from the sanctuary: and defend thee out of Sion.Ἐξαποστείλαι σοι βοήθειαν ἐξ ἁγίου, καὶ ἐκ Σιὼν ἀντιλάβοιτό σου.
4May he be mindful of all thy sacrifices: and may thy whole burnt offering be made fat.Μνησθείη πάσης θυσίας σου, καὶ τὸ ὁλοκαύτωμά σου πιανάτω· διάψαλμα.
5May he give thee according to thy own heart; and confirm all thy counsels.Δῴη σοι κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν σου, καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν βουλήν σου πληρώσαι.
6We will rejoice in thy salvation; and in the name of our God we shall be exalted.Ἀγαλλιασόμεθα ἐν τῷ σωτηρίῳ σου, καὶ ἐν ὀνόματι Θεοῦ ἡμῶν μεγαλυνθησόμεθα· πληρώσαι Κύριος πάντα τὰ αἰτήματά σου.
7The Lord fulfill all thy petitions: now have I known that the Lord hath saved his anointed. He will hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is in powers.Νῦν ἔγνων ὅτι ἔσωσε Κύριος τὸν χριστὸν αὐτοῦ· ἐπακούσεται αὐτοῦ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἁγίου αὐτοῦ, ἐν δυναστείαις ἡ σωτηρία τῆς δεξιᾶς αὐτοῦ.
8Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will call upon the name of the Lord our God.Οὗτοι ἐν ἅρμασι καὶ οὗτοι ἐν ἵπποις, ἡμεῖς δὲ ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου Θεοῦ ἡμῶν μεγαλυνθησόμεθα.
9They are bound, and have fallen; but we are risen, and are set upright. O Lord, save the king: and hear us in the day that we shall call upon thee.Αὐτοὶ συνεποδίσθησαν καὶ ἔπεσαν, ἡμεῖς δὲ ἀνέστημεν καὶ ἀνωρθώθημεν.
LXX 19:10—Κύριε σῶσον τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἐπάκουσον ἡμῶν, ἐν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπικαλεσώμεθά σε.
