Unto the end, for them that shall he changed, a testimony for Asaph, a psalm.In finem, pro iis qui commutabuntur.
Give ear, O thou that rulest Israel: thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep. Thou that sittest upon the cherubims, shine forthQui regis Israël, intende; qui deducis velut ovem Ioseph.
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasses. Stir up thy might, and come to save us.coram Ephraim, Beniamin, et Manasse.
Convert us, O God: and shew us thy face, and we shall be saved.
O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?Domine Deus virtutum, quousque irasceris super orationem servi tui?Κύριε ὁ Θεὸς τῶν δυνάμεων, ἕως πότε ὀργίζῃ ἐπὶ τὴν προσευχὴν τοῦ δούλου σου;
How long wilt thou feed us with the bread of tears: and give us for our drink tears in measure?cibabis nos pane lacrimarum, et potum dabis nobis in lacrimis in mensura?Ψωμιεῖς ἡμᾶς ἄρτον δακρύων, καὶ ποτιεῖς ἡμᾶς ἐν δάκρυσιν ἐν μέτρῳ.
Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.Posuisti nos in contradictionem vicinis nostris, et inimici nostri subsannaverunt nos.Ἔθου ἡμᾶς εἰς ἀντιλογίαν τοῖς γείτοσιν ἡμῶν, καὶ οἱ ἐχθροὶ ἡμῶν ἐμυκτήρισαν ἡμᾶς.
O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
Thou hast brought a vineyard out of Egypt: thou hast cast cut the Gentiles and planted it.Vineam de Aegypto transtulisti: eiecisti gentes, et plantasti eam.Ἄμπελον ἐξ Αἰγύπτου μετῇρας, ἐξέβαλες ἔθνη καὶ κατεφύτευσας αὐτήν.
Thou wast the guide of its journey in its sight: thou plantedst the roots thereof, and it filled the land.Dux itineris fuisti in conspectu eius; plantasti radices eius, et implevit terram.Ὡδοποίησας ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῆς, καὶ κατεφύτευσας τὰς ῥίζας αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ.
The shadow of it covered the hills: and the branches thereof the cedars of God.Operuit montes umbra eius, et arbusta eius cedros Dei.Ἐκάλυψεν ὄρη ἡ σκιὰ αὐτῆς, καὶ αἱ ἀναδενδράδες αὐτῆς τὰς κέδρους τοῦ Θεοῦ.
It stretched forth its branches unto the sea, and its boughs unto the river.
Why hast thou broken down the hedge thereof, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck it?Ut quid destruxisti maceriam eius, et vindemiant eam omnes qui praetergrediuntur viam?Ἱνατί καθεῖλες τὸν φραγμὸν αὐτῆς, καὶ τρυγῶσιν αὐτὴν πάντες οἱ παραπορευόμενοι τὴν ὁδόν;
The boar out of the wood hath laid it waste: and a singular wild beast hath devoured it.Exterminavit eam aper de silva, et singularis ferus depastus est eam.Ἐλυμῄνατο αὐτὴν σῦς ἐκ δρυμοῦ, καὶ μονιὸς ἄγριος κατενεμήσατο αὐτήν.
Turn again, O God of hosts, look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vineyard:Deus virtutum, convertere, respice de caelo, et vide, et visita vineam istam:Ὁ Θεὸς τῶν δυνάμεων ἐπίστρεψον δὴ, ἐπίβλεψον ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἴδε, καὶ ἐπίσκεψαι τὴν ἄμπελον ταύτην·
And perfect the same which thy right hand hath planted: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.et perfice eam quam plantavit dextera tua, et super filium hominis quem confirmasti tibi.Καὶ κατάρτισαι αὐτὴν, ἣν ἐφύτευσεν ἡ δεξιά σου, καὶ ἐπὶ υἱὸν ἀνθρώπου ὃν ἐκραταίωσας σεαυτῷ.
Things set on fire and dug down shall perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: and upon the son of man whom thou hast confirmed for thyself.
And we depart not from thee, thou shalt quicken us: and we will call upon thy name.Et non discedimus a te: vivificabis nos, et nomen tuum invocabimus.Καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποστῶμεν ἀπὸ σοῦ, ζωώσεις ἡμᾶς, καὶ τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐπικαλεσόμεθα.
O Lord God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.
