Douay-RheimsVulgata ClementinaSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
Hear, O Lord, my prayer: give ear to my supplication in thy truth: hear me in thy justice.Psalmus David, quando persequebatur eum Absalom filius eius. Domine, exaudi orationem meam; auribus percipe obsecrationem meam in veritate tua; exaudi me in tua iustitia.Ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυὶδ, ὅτε αὐτὸν ὁ υἱὸς κατεδιώκει.
And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight no man living shall be justified.Et non intres in iudicium cum servo tuo, quia non iustificabitur in conspectu tuo omnis vivens.Καὶ μὴ εἰσέλθῃς εἰς κρίσιν μετὰ τοῦ δούλου σου, ὅτι οὐ δικαιωθήσεται ἐνώπιόν σου πᾶς ζῶν.
For the enemy hath persecuted my soul: he hath brought down my life to the earth. He hath made me to dwell in darkness as those that have been dead of old:Quia persecutus est inimicus animam meam; humiliavit in terra vitam meam; collocavit me in obscuris, sicut mortuos saeculi.Ὅτι κατεδίωξεν ὁ ἐχθρὸς τὴν ψυχήν μου· ἐταπείνωσεν εἰς τὴν γῆν τὴν ζωήν μου, ἐκάθισέ με ἐν σκοτεινοῖς ὡς νεκροὺς αἰῶνος,
And my spirit is in anguish within me: my heart within me is troubled.Et anxiatus est super me spiritus meus; in me turbatum est cor meum.καὶ ἠκηδίασεν ἐπʼ ἐμὲ τὸ πνεῦμά μου· ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐταράχθη ἡ καρδία μου.
I remembered the days of old, I meditated on all thy works: I meditated upon the works of thy hands.Memor fui dierum antiquorum; meditatus sum in omnibus operibus tuis: in factis manuum tuarum meditabar.Ἐμνήσθην ἡμερῶν ἀρχαίων· καὶ ἐμελέτησα ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔργοις σου, ἐν ποιήμασι τῶν χειρῶν σου ἐμελέτων.
I stretched forth my hands to thee: my soul is as earth without water unto thee.Expandi manus meas ad te; anima mea sicut terra sine aqua tibi.Διεπέτασα πρὸς σὲ τὰς χεῖράς μου, ἡ ψυχή μου ὡς γῆ ἄνυδρός σοι· διάψαλμα.
Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit hath fainted away. Turn not away thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.Velociter exaudi me, Domine; defecit spiritus meus. Non avertas faciem tuam a me, et similis ero descendentibus in lacum.Ταχὺ εἰσάκουσόν μου, Κύριε, ἐξέλιπε τὸ πνεῦμά μου· μὴ ἀποστρέψῃς τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ, καὶ ὁμοιωθήσομαι τοῖς καταβαίνουσιν εἰς λάκκον.
Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for in thee have I hoped. Make the way known to me, wherein I should walk: for I have lifted up my soul to thee.Auditam fac mihi mane misericordiam tuam, quia in te speravi. Notam fac mihi viam in qua ambulem, quia ad te levavi animam meam.Ἀκουστὸν ποίησόν μοι τοπρωῒ τὸ ἔλεός σου, ὅτι ἐπὶ σοὶ ἤλπισα· γνώρισόν μοι, Κύριε, ὁδὸν ἐν ᾗ πορεύσομαι, ὅτι πρὸς σὲ ᾖρα τὴν ψυχήν μου.
Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, to thee have I fled:Eripe me de inimicis meis, Domine: ad te confugi.Ἐξελοῦ με ἐκ τῶν ἐχθρῶν μου Κύριε, ὅτι πρὸς σὲ κατέφυγον.
Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God. Thy good spirit shall lead me into the right land:Doce me facere voluntatem tuam, quia Deus meus es tu. Spiritus tuus bonus deducet me in terram rectam.Δίδαξόν με τοῦ ποιεῖν τὸ θέλημά σου, ὅτι Θεός μου εἶ σὺ, τὸ πνεῦμά σου τὸ ἁγαθὸν ὁδηγήσει με ἐν τῇ εὐθείᾳ.
For thy name’s sake, O Lord, thou wilt quicken me in thy justice. Thou wilt bring my soul out of trouble:Propter nomen tuum, Domine, vivificabis me: in aequitate tua, educes de tribulatione animam meam,Ἕνεκα τοῦ ὀνόματός σου, Κύριε, ζήσεις με, ἐν τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ σου ἐξάξεις ἐκ θλίψεως τὴν ψυχήν μου.
And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy my enemies. And thou wilt cut off all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.et in misericordia tua disperdes inimicos meos, et perdes omnes qui tribulant animam meam, quoniam ego servus tuus sum.Καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐλέει σου ἐξολοθρεύσεις τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου, καὶ ἀπολεῖς πάντας τοὺς θλίβοντας τὴν ψυχήν μου, ὅτι δοῦλός σου εἰμὶ ἐγώ.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
