Unto the end, understanding for David,In finem. Intellectus David,Εἰς τὸ τέλος συνέσεως τῷ Δαυὶδ,
When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul David went to the house of Achimelech.cum venit Doëg Idumaeus, et nuntiavit Sauli: Venit David in domum Achimelech.ἐν τῷ ἐλθεῖν Δωὴκ τὸν Ἰδουμαῖον, καὶ ἀναγγεῖλαι τῷ Σαοὺλ, καὶ εἰπεῖν αὐτῷ, ἦλθε Δαυὶδ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Ἀβιμέλεχ.
Why dost thou glory in malice, thou that art mighty in iniquity?Quid gloriaris in malitia, qui potens es in iniquitate?Τί ἐγκαυχᾷ ἐν κακίᾳ ὁ δυνατὸς ἀνομίαν; ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν
All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.
Thou hast loved malice more than goodness: and iniquity rather than to speak righteousness.
Thou hast loved all the words of ruin, O deceitful tongue.Dilexisti omnia verba praecipitationis; lingua dolosa.Ἠγάπησας πάντα τὰ ῥήματα καταποντισμοῦ, γλῶσσαν δολίαν.
Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living.Propterea Deus destruet te in finem; evellet te, et emigrabit te de tabernaculo tuo, et radicem tuam de terra viventium.Διὰ τοῦτο ὁ Θεὸς καθέλοι σε εἰς τέλος, ἐκτίλαι σε καὶ μεταναστεύσαι σε ἀπὸ σκηνώματος, καὶ τὸ ῥίζωμά σου ἐκ γῆς ζώντων· διάψαλμα.
The just shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say:Videbunt iusti, et timebunt; et super eum ridebunt, et dicent:Καὶ ὄψονται δίκαιοι καὶ φοβηθήσονται, καὶ ἐπʼ αὐτὸν γελάσονται, καὶ ἐροῦσιν,
Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity.Ecce homo qui non posuit Deum adiutorem suum; sed speravit in multitudine divitiarum suarum, et praevaluit in vanitate sua.ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐκ ἔθετο τὸν Θεὸν βοηθὸν αὐτοῦ, ἀλλʼ ἐπήλπισεν ἐπὶ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ πλούτου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐνεδυναμώθη ἐπὶ τῇ ματαιότητι αὐτοῦ.
But I, as a fruitful olive tree in the house of God, have hoped in the mercy of God for ever, yea for ever and ever.Ego autem, sicut oliva fructifera in domo Dei; speravi in misericordia Dei, in aeternum et in saeculum saeculi.Ἐγὼ δὲ ὡσεὶ ἐλαία κατάκαρπος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἤλπισα ἐπὶ τὸ ἔλεος τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good in the sight of thy saints.Confitebor tibi in saeculum, quia fecisti; et exspectabo nomen tuum, quoniam bonum est in conspectu sanctorum tuorum.Ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ὅτι ἐποίησας, καὶ ὑπομενῶ τὸ ὄνομά σου, ὅτι χρηστὸν ἐναντίον τῶν ὁσίων σου.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
