Douay-RheimsVulgata ClementinaSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.Alleluia. Aleph Beati immaculati in via, qui ambulant in lege Domini.Ἀλληλούϊα.
Blessed are they who search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart.Beati qui scrutantur testimonia eius; in toto corde exquirunt eum.Μακάριοι οἱ ἐξερευνῶντες τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ, ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ ἐκζητήσουσιν αὐτόν.
For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways.Non enim qui operantur iniquitatem in viis eius ambulaverunt.Οὐ γὰρ οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ ἐπορεύθησαν.
Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently.
O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications.
Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments.Tunc non confundar, cum perspexero in omnibus mandatis tuis.Τότε οὐ μὴ αἰσχυνθῶ, ἐν τῷ με ἐπιβλέπειν ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice.Confitebor tibi in directione cordis, in eo quod didici iudicia iustitiae tuae.Ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ἐν εὐθύτητι καρδίας, ἐν τῷ μεμαθηκέναι με τὰ κρίματα τῆς δικαιοσύνης σου.
I will keep thy justifications: O! do not thou utterly forsake me.Iustificationes tuas custodiam; non me derelinquas usquequaque.Τὰ δικαιώματά σου φυλάξω, μή με ἐγκαταλίπῃς ἕως σφόδρα.
BETH. By what doth a young man correct his way? by observing thy words.Beth In quo corrigit adolescentior viam suam? in custodiendo sermones tuos.Ἐν τίνι κατορθώσει νεώτερος τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ; ἐν τῷ φυλάξασθαι τοὺς λόγους σου.
With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments. In toto corde meo exquisivi te; ne repellas me a mandatis tuis.Ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ μου ἐξεζήτησά σε, μὴ ἀπώσῃ με ἀπὸ τῶν ἐντολῶν σου.
Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.In corde meo abscondi eloquia tua, ut non peccem tibi.Ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ μου ἔκρυψα τὰ λόγιά σου, ὅπως ἂν μὴ ἁμάρτω σοι.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications.Benedictus es, Domine; doce me iustificationes tuas.Εὐλογητὸς εἶ Κύριε, δίδαξόν με τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth. In labiis meis pronuntiavi omnia iudicia oris tui.Ἐν τοῖς χείλεσί μου ἐξήγγειλα πάντα τὰ κρίματα τοῦ στόματός σου.
I have been delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches. In via testimoniorum tuorum delectatus sum, sicut in omnibus divitiis.Ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ τῶν μαρτυρίων σου ἐτέρφθην, ὡς ἐπὶ παντὶ πλούτῳ.
I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways.In mandatis tuis exercebor, et considerabo vias tuas.Ἐν ταῖς ἐντολαῖς σου ἀδολεσχήσω, καὶ κατανοήσω τὰς ὁδούς σου.
I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words. In iustificationibus tuis meditabor: non obliviscar sermones tuos.Ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασί σου μελετήσω, οὐκ ἐπιλήσομαι τῶν λόγων σου.
GIMEL. Give bountifully to thy servant, enliven me: and I shall keep thy words.Ghimel Retribue servo tuo, vivifica me, et custodiam sermones tuos.Ἀνταπόδος τῷ δούλῳ σου, ζήσομαι καὶ φυλάξω τοὺς λόγους σου.
Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.
I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.Incola ego sum in terra: non abscondas a me mandata tua.Πάροικος ἐγώ εἰμι ἐν τῇ γῇ, μὴ ἀποκρύψῃς ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
My soul hath coveted to long for thy justifications, at all times.Concupivit anima mea desiderare iustificationes tuas in omni tempore.Ἐπεπόθησεν ἡ ψυχή μου τοῦ ἐπιθυμῆσαι τὰ κρίματά σου ἐν παντὶ καιρῷ.
Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments.Increpasti superbos; maledicti qui declinant a mandatis tuis.Ἐπετίμησας ὑπερηφάνοις, ἐπικατάρατοι οἱ ἐκκλίνοντες ἀπὸ τῶν ἐντολῶν σου.
Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.Aufer a me opprobrium et contemptum, quia testimonia tua exquisivi.Περίελε ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ ὄνειδος καὶ ἐξουδένωσιν, ὅτι τὰ μαρτύριά σου ἐξεζήτησα.
For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.Etenim sederunt principes, et adversum me loquebantur; servus autem tuus exercebatur in iustificationibus tuis.Καὶ γὰρ ἐκάθισαν ἄρχοντες, καὶ κατʼ ἐμοῦ κατελάλουν, ὁ δὲ δοῦλός σου ἠδολέσχει ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασί σου.
For thy testimonies are my meditation: and thy justifications my counsel.Nam et testimonia tua meditatio mea est, et consilium meum iustificationes tuae.Καὶ γὰρ τὰ μαρτύριά σου μελέτη μου ἐστὶ, καὶ αἱ συμβουλίαι μου τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
DALETH. My soul hath cleaved to the pavement: quicken thou me according to thy word.Daleth Adhaesit pavimento anima mea: vivifica me secundum verbum tuum.Ἐκολλήθη τῷ ἐδάφει ἡ ψυχή μου, ζῆσόν με κατὰ τὸ λόγον σου.
I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me: teach me thy justifications.Vias meas enuntiavi, et exaudisti me; doce me iustificationes tuas.Τὰς ὁδούς σου ἐξήγγειλα καὶ ἐπήκουσάς μου, δίδαξόν με τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
Make me to understand the way of thy justifications: and I shall be exercised in thy wondrous works.Viam iustificationum tuarum instrue me, et exercebor in mirabilibus tuis.Ὁδὸν δικαιωμάτων σου συνέτισόν με, καὶ ἀδολεσχήσω ἐν τοῖς θαυμασίοις σου.
My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words.Dormitavit anima mea prae taedio: confirma me in verbis tuis.Ἐνύσταξεν ἡ ψυχή μου ἀπὸ ἀκηδίας, βεβαίωσόν με ἐν τοῖς λόγοις σου.
Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me.Viam iniquitatis amove a me, et de lege tua miserere mei.Ὁδὸν ἀδικίας ἀπόστησον ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ, καὶ τῷ νόμῳ σου ἐλέησόν με.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten.
I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.Adhaesi testimoniis tuis, Domine; noli me confundere.Ἐκολλήθην τοῖς μαρτυρίοις σου Κύριε, μή με καταισχύνῃς.
I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.
HE. Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it.He Legem pone mihi, Domine, viam iustificationum tuarum, et exquiram eam semper.Νομοθέτησόν με Κύριε τὴν ὁδὸν τῶν δικαιωμάτων σου, καὶ ἐκζητήσω αὐτὴν διαπαντός.
Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart.Da mihi intellectum, et scrutabor legem tuam, et custodiam illam in toto corde meo.Συνέτισόν με, καὶ ἐξερευνήσω τὸν νόμον σου, καὶ φυλάξω αὐτὸν ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ μου.
Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired.Deduc me in semitam mandatorum tuorum, quia ipsam volui.Ὁδήγησόν με ἐν τῇ τρίβῳ τῶν ἐντολῶν σου, ὅτι αὐτὴν ἠθέλησα.
Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness.Inclina cor meum in testimonia tua, et non in avaritiam.Κλῖνον τὴν καρδίαν μου εἰς τὰ μαρτύριά σου, καὶ μὴ εἰς πλεονεξίαν.
Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way.Averte oculos meos, ne videant vanitatem; in via tua vivifica me.Ἀπόστρεψον τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου τοῦ μὴ ἰδεῖν ματαιότητα, ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ σου ζῆσόν με.
Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear.Statue servo tuo eloquium tuum in timore tuo.Στῆσον τῷ δούλῳ σου τὸ λόγιόν σου εἰς τὸν φόβον σου.
Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful.Amputa opprobrium meum quod suspicatus sum, quia iudicia tua iucunda.Περίελε τὸν ὄνειδισμόν μου ὃν ὑπώπτευσα, ὅτι τὰ κρίματά σου χρηστά.
Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice.Ecce concupivi mandata tua: in aequitate tua vivifica me.Ἰδοὺ ἐπεθύμησα τὰς ἐντολάς σου, ἐν τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ σου ζῆσόν με.
VAU. Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word.Vau Et veniat super me misericordia tua, Domine; salutare tuum secundum eloquium tuum.Καὶ ἔλθοι ἐπʼ ἐμὲ τὸ ἔλεός σου Κύριε, τὸ σωτήριόν σου κατὰ τὸν λόγον σου.
So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words.Et respondebo exprobrantibus mihi verbum, quia speravi in sermonibus tuis.Καὶ ἀποκριθήσομαι τοῖς ὀνειδίζουσί μοι λόγον, ὅτι ἤλπισα ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις σου.
And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words have I hoped exceedingly.Et ne auferas de ore meo verbum veritatis usquequaque, quia in iudiciis tuis supersperavi.Καὶ μὴ περιέλῃς ἐκ τοῦ στόματός μου λόγον ἀληθείας ἕως σφόδρα, ὅτι ἐπὶ τοῖς κρίμασί σου ἐπήλπισα.
So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever.Et custodiam legem tuam semper, in saeculum et in saeculum saeculi.Καὶ φυλάξω τὸν νόμον σου διαπαντὸς, εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος.
And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments.Et ambulabam in latitudine, quia mandata tua exquisivi.Καὶ ἐπορευόμην ἐν πλατυσμῷ, ὅτι τὰς ἐντολάς σου ἐξεζήτησα.
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed.Et loquebar in testimoniis tuis in conspectu regum, et non confundebar.Καὶ ἐλάλουν ἐν τοῖς μαρτυρίοις σου ἐναντίον βασιλέων, καὶ οὐκ ᾐσχυνόμην.
I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.Et meditabar in mandatis tuis, quae dilexi.Καὶ ἐμελέτων ἐν ταῖς ἐντολαῖς σου, αἷς ἠγάπησα σφόδρα.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications.Et levavi manus meas ad mandata tua, quae dilexi, et exercebar in iustificationibus tuis.Καὶ ᾖρα τὰς χεῖράς μου πρὸς τὰς ἐντολάς σου ἃς ἠγάπησα, καὶ ἠδολέσχουν ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασί σου.
ZAIN. Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope.Zain Memor esto verbi tui servo tuo, in quo mihi spem dedisti.Μνήσθητι τῶν λόγων σου τῷ δούλῳ σου ὧν ἐπήλπισάς με.
This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.Haec me consolata est in humilitate mea, quia eloquium tuum vivificavit me.Αὕτη με παρεκάλεσεν ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει μου, ὅτι τὸ λόγιόν σου ἔζησέ με.
The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.Superbi inique agebant usquequaque; a lege autem tua non declinavi.Ὑπερήφανοι παρηνόμουν ἕως σφόδρα, ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ νόμου σου οὐκ ἐξέκλινα.
I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted.Memor fui iudiciorum tuorum a saeculo, Domine, et consolatus sum.Ἐμνήσθην τῶν κριμάτων σου ἀπʼ αἰῶνος Κύριε, καὶ παρεκλήθην.
A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law.Defectio tenuit me, pro peccatoribus derelinquentibus legem tuam.Ἀθυμία κατέσχε με ἀπὸ ἁμαρτωλῶν τῶν ἐγκαταλιμπανόντων τὸν νόμον σου.
Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage.Cantabiles mihi erant iustificationes tuae in loco peregrinationis meae.Ψαλτὰ ἦσάν μοι τὰ δικαιώματά σου, ἐν τόπῳ παροικίας μου·
In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law.
This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications.Haec facta est mihi, quia iustificationes tuas exquisivi.Αὕτη ἐγενήθη μοι, ὅτι τὰ δικαιώματά σου ἐξεζήτησα.
HETH. O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep the law.
I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word.Deprecatus sum faciem tuam in toto corde meo; miserere mei secundum eloquium tuum.Ἐδεήθην τοῦ προσώπου σου ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ μου, ἐλέησόν με κατὰ τὸ λόγιόν σου.
I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.Cogitavi vias meas, et converti pedes meos in testimonia tua.Διελογισάμην τὰς ὁδούς σου, καὶ ἐπέστρεψα τοὺς πόδας μου εἰς τὰ μαρτύριά σου.
I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments.Paratus sum, et non sum turbatus, ut custodiam mandata tua.Ἡτοιμάσθην καὶ οὐκ ἐταράχθην, τοῦ φυλάξασθαι τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.Funes peccatorum circumplexi sunt me, et legem tuam non sum oblitus.Σχοινία ἁμαρτωλῶν περιεπλάκησάν μοι, καὶ τοῦ νόμου σου οὐκ ἐπελαθόμην.
I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification.Media nocte surgebam ad confitendum tibi, super iudicia iustificationis tuae.Μεσονύκτιον ἐξεγειρόμην, τοῦ ἐξομολογεῖσθαί σοι ἐπὶ τὰ κρίματα τῆς δικαιοσύνης σου.
I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments.
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications.Misericordia tua, Domine, plena est terra; iustificationes tuas doce me.Τοῦ ἐλέους σου Κύριε πλήρης ἡ γῆ, τὰ δικαιώματά σου δίδαξόν με.
TETH. Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.
Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments.Bonitatem, et disciplinam, et scientiam doce me, quia mandatis tuis credidi.Χρηστότητα καὶ παιδείαν καὶ γνῶσιν δίδαξόν με, ὅτι ταῖς ἐντολαῖς σου ἐπίστευσα.
Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word.
Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications.Bonus es tu, et in bonitate tua doce me iustificationes tuas.Χρηστὸς εἶ σὺ Κύριε· καὶ ἐν τῇ χρηστότητί σου δίδαξόν με τὰ δικαιωματά σου.
The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart.Multiplicata est super me iniquitas superborum; ego autem in toto corde meo scrutabor mandata tua.Ἐπληθύνθη ἐπʼ ἐμὲ ἀδικία ὑπερηφάνων, ἐγὼ δὲ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ μου ἐξερευνήσω τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law.
It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications.Bonum mihi quia humiliasti me, ut discam iustificationes tuas.Ἀγαθόν μοι ὅτι ἐταπείνωσάς με, ὅπως ἂν μάθω τὰ δικαιώματά σου.
The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver.
JOD. Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments.Iod Manus tuae fecerunt me, et plasmaverunt me: da mihi intellectum, et discam mandata tua.Αἱ χεῖρές σου ἔποίησάν με καὶ ἐπλασάν με, συνέτισόν με καὶ μαθήσομαι τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad: because I have greatly hoped in thy words.Qui timent te videbunt me et laetabuntur, quia in verba tua supersperavi.Οἱ φοβούμενοί σε ὄψονταί με καὶ εὐφρανθήσονται, ὅτι εἰς τοὺς λόγους σου ἐπήλπισα.
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me.Cognovi, Domine, quia aequitas iudicia tua, et in veritate tua humiliasti me.Ἔγνων Κύριε ὅτι δικαιοσύνη τὰ κρίματά σου, καὶ ἀληθείᾳ ἐταπείνωσάς με.
O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.Fiat misericordia tua ut consoletur me, secundum eloquium tuum servo tuo.Γενηθήτω δὴ τὸ ἔλεός σου τοῦ παρακαλέσαι με, κατὰ τὸ λόγιόν σου τῷ δούλῳ σου.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my meditation.
Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments.Confundantur superbi, quia iniuste iniquitatem fecerunt in me; ego autem exercebor in mandatis tuis.Αἰσχυνθήτωσαν ὑπερήφανοι, ὅτι ἀδίκως ἠνόμησαν εἰς ἐμὲ, ἐγὼ δὲ ἀδολεσχήσω ἐν ταῖς ἐντολαῖς σου.
Let them that fear thee turn to me and they that know thy testimonies.Convertantur mihi timentes te, et qui noverunt testimonia tua.Ἐπιστρεψάτωσάν με οἱ φοβούμενοί σε, καὶ οἱ γινώσκοντες τὰ μαρτύριά σου.
Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded.Fiat cor meum immaculatum in iustificationibus tuis, ut non confundar.Γενηθήτω ἡ καρδία μου ἄμωμος ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασί σου, ὅπως ἂν μὴ αἰσχυνθῶ.
CAPH. My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped.Caph Defecit in salutare tuum anima mea, et in verbum tuum supersperavi.Ἐκλείπει εἰς τὸ σωτήριόν σου ἡ ψυχή μου, εἰς τοὺς λόγους σου ἐπήλπισα.
My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me?Defecerunt oculi mei in eloquium tuum, dicentes: Quando consolaberis me?Ἐξέλιπον οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου εἰς τὸ λόγιόν σου, λέγοντες, πότε παρακαλέσεις με;
For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications.Quia factus sum sicut uter in pruina; iustificationes tuas non sum oblitus.Ὅτι ἐγενήθην ὡς ἀσκὸς ἐν πάχνῃ· τὰ δικαιώματά σου οὐκ ἐπελαθόμην.
How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?Quot sunt dies servi tui? quando facies de persequentibus me iudicium?Πόσαι εἰσὶν αἱ ἡμέραι τοῦ δούλου σου; πότε ποιήσεις μοι ἐκ τῶν καταδιωκόντων με κρίσιν;
The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law.Narraverunt mihi iniqui fabulationes, sed non ut lex tua.Διηγήσαντό μοι παράνομοι ἀδολεσχίας, ἀλλʼ οὐχ ὡς ὁ νόμος σου Κύριε.
All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me.Omnia mandata tua veritas: inique persecuti sunt me, adiuva me.Πᾶσαι αἱ ἐντολαί σου ἀλήθεια· ἀδίκως κατεδίωξάν με, βοήθησόν μοι.
They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments.Paulominus consummaverunt me in terra; ego autem non dereliqui mandata tua.Παρὰ βραχὺ συνετέλεσάν με ἐν τῇ γῇ, ἐγὼ δὲ οὐκ ἐγκατέλιπον τὰς ἐντολάς σου.
Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth.Secundum misericordiam tuam vivifica me, et custodiam testimonia oris tui.Κατὰ τὸ ἔλεός σου ζῆσόν με, καὶ φυλάξω τὰ μαρτύρια τοῦ στόματός σου.
LAMED. For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven.Lamed In aeternum, Domine, verbum tuum permanet in caelo.Εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, Κύριε, ὁ λόγος σου διαμένει ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ,
Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth. In generationem et generationem veritas tua; fundasti terram, et permanet.εἰς γενεὰν καὶ γενεὰν ἡ ἀλήθειά σου· ἐθεμελίωσας τὴν γῆν καὶ διαμένει.
By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee.
Unless thy law had been my meditation, I had then perhaps perished in my abjection.Nisi quod lex tua meditatio mea est, tunc forte periissem in humilitate mea.Εἰ μὴ ὅτι ὁ νόμος σου μελέτη μου ἐστὶ, τότε ἂν ἀπωλόμην ἐν τῇ ταπεινώσει μου.
Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life.In aeternum non obliviscar iustificationes tuas, quia in ipsis vivificasti me.Εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὐ μὴ ἐπιλάθωμαι τῶν δικαιωμάτων σου, ὅτι ἐν αὐτοῖς ἔζησάς με.
I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications.Tuus sum ego; salvum me fac: quoniam iustificationes tuas exquisivi.Σός εἰμι ἐγὼ, σῶσόν με, ὅτι τὰ δικαιώματά σου ἐξεζήτησα.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies.Me exspectaverunt peccatores ut perderent me; testimonia tua intellexi.Ἐμὲ ὑπέμειναν ἁμαρτωλοὶ τοῦ ἀπολέσαι με, τὰ μαρτύριά σου συνῆκα.
I have seen an end to all persecution: thy commandment is exceeding broad.
MEM. O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.
Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me.Super inimicos meos prudentem me fecisti mandato tuo, quia in aeternum mihi est.Ὑπὲρ τοὺς ἐχθρούς μου ἐσόφισάς με τὴν ἐντολήν σου, ὅτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐμή ἐστιν.
I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my meditation.Super omnes docentes me intellexi, quia testimonia tua meditatio mea est.Ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς διδάσκοντάς με συνῆκα, ὅτι τὰ μαρτύριά σου μελέτη μου ἐστίν.
I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments.
I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words.
I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law.A iudiciis tuis non declinavi, quia tu legem posuisti mihi.Ἀπὸ τῶν κριμάτων σου οὐκ ἐξέκλινα, ὅτι σὺ ἐνομοθέτησάς με.
How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth.
By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity.A mandatis tuis intellexi; propterea odivi omnem viam iniquitatis.Ἀπὸ τῶν ἐντολῶν σου συνῆκα, διὰ τοῦτο ἐμίσησα πᾶσαν ὁδὸν ἀδικίας.
NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.
I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice.
I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word.Humiliatus sum usquequaque, Domine; vivifica me secundum verbum tuum.Ἐταπεινώθην ἕως σφόδρα Κύριε, ζῆσόν με κατὰ τὸν λόγον σου.
The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments.Voluntaria oris mei beneplacita fac, Domine, et iudicia tua doce me.Τὰ ἑκούσια τοῦ στόματός μου εὐλόκησον δὴ Κύριε, καὶ τὰ κρίματά σου δίδαξόν με.
My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law.Anima mea in manibus meis semper, et legem tuam non sum oblitus.Ἡ ψυχή μου ἐν ταῖς χερσὶ σου διαπαντὸς, καὶ τὸν νόμον σου οὐκ ἐπελαθόμην.
Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts.Posuerunt peccatores laqueum mihi, et de mandatis tuis non erravi.Ἔθεντο ἁμαρτωλοὶ παγίδα μοι, καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἐντολῶν σου οὐκ ἐπλανήθην.
I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are a joy to my heart.Haereditate acquisivi testimonia tua in aeternum, quia exsultatio cordis mei sunt.Ἐκληρονόμησα τὰ μαρτύριά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ὅτι ἀγαλλιάμα τῆς καρδίας μού εἰσιν.
I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward.Inclinavi cor meum ad faciendas iustificationes tuas in aeternum, propter retributionem.Ἔκλινα τὴν καρδίαν μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι τὰ δικαιώματά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα διʼ ἀντάμειψιν.

Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God.Declinate a me, maligni, et scrutabor mandata Dei mei.Ἐκκλίνατε ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ οἱ πονηρευόμενοι, καὶ ἐξεραυνήσω τὰς ἐντολὰς τοῦ Θεοῦ μου.
Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation.Suscipe me secundum eloquium tuum, et vivam, et non confundas me ab exspectatione mea.Ἀντιλαβοῦ μου κατὰ τὸ λόγιόν σου, καὶ ζῆσόν με, καὶ μὴ καταισχύνῃς με ἀπὸ τῆς προσδοκίας μου.
Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications.Adiuva me, et salvus ero, et meditabor in iustificationibus tuis semper.Βοήθησόν μοι, καὶ σωθήσομαι, καὶ μελετήσω ἐν τοῖς δικαιώμασί σου διαπαντός.

I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies.
