Alleluia. Give glory to the Lord, and call upon his name: declare his deeds among the Gentiles.Alleluia.
Sing to him, yea sing praises to him: relate all his wondrous works.
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.Laudamini in nomine sancto eius; laetetur cor quaerentium Dominum.Ἐπαινεῖσθε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ· εὐφρανθήτω καρδία ζητούντων τὸν Κύριον.
Seek ye the Lord, and be strengthened: seek his face evermore.
Remember his marvellous works which he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.
O ye seed of Abraham his servant; ye sons of Jacob his chosen.semen Abraham servi eius; filii Iacob electi eius.Σπέρμα Ἁβραὰμ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ, υἱοὶ Ἰακὼβ ἐκλεκτοὶ αὐτοῦ.
He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.Ipse Dominus Deus noster; in universa terra iudicia eius.Αὐτὸς Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν, ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.Memor fuit in saeculum testamenti sui; verbi quod mandavit in mille generationes:Ἐμνήσθη εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα διαθήκης αὐτοῦ, λόγου οὗ ἐνετείλατο εἰς χιλίας γενεὰς,
Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:quod disposuit ad Abraham, et iuramenti sui ad Isaac:ὃν διέθετο τῷ Ἁβραὰμ, καὶ τοῦ ὅρκου αὐτοῦ τῷ Ἰσαάκ·
And he appointed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting testament:et statuit illud Iacob in praeceptum, et Israël in testamentum aeternum,Καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτὴν τῷ Ἰακὼβ εἰς πρόσταγμα, καὶ τῷ Ἰσραὴλ εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον,
Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the lot of your inheritance.dicens: Tibi dabo terram Chanaan, funiculum haereditatis vestrae:λέγων, σοὶ δώσω τὴν γῆν Χαναὰν, σχοίνισμα κληρονομίας ὑμῶν.
When they were but a small number: yea very few, and sojourners therein:cum essent numero brevi, paucissimi, et incolae eius.Ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτοὺς ἀριθμῷ βραχεῖς, ὀλιγοστοὺς καὶ παροίκους ἐν αὐτῇ,
And they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.Et pertransierunt de gente in gentem, et de regno ad populum alterum.καὶ διῆλθον ἐξ ἔθνους εἰς ἔθνος, καὶ ἐκ βασιλείας εἰς λαὸν ἕτερον,
He suffered no man to hurt them: and he reproved kings for their sakes.
Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.Nolite tangere christos meos, et in prophetis meis nolite malignari.Μὴ ἅψησθε τῶν χριστῶν μου, καὶ ἐν τοῖς προφήταις μου μὴ πονηρεύεσθε.
And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.Et vocavit famem super terram, et omne firmamentum panis contrivit.Καὶ ἐκάλεσε λιμὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, πᾶν στήριγμα ἄρτου συνέτριψεν.
He sent a man before them: Joseph, who was sold for a slave.Misit ante eos virum: in servum venundatus est, Ioseph.Ἀπέστειλεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν ἄνθρωπον, εἰς δοῦλον ἐπράθη Ἰωσήφ.
They humbled his feet in fetters: the iron pierced his soul,Humiliaverunt in compedibus pedes eius; ferrum pertransiit animam eius:Ἐταπείνωσαν ἐν πέδαις τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ, σίδηρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ·
Until his word came. The word of the Lord inflamed him.donec veniret verbum eius.
The king sent, and he released him: the ruler of the people, and he set him at liberty.
He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession.
That he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his ancients wisdom.ut erudiret principes eius sicut semetipsum, et senes eius prudentiam doceret.τοῦ παιδεῦσαι τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτοῦ ὡς ἑαυτὸν, καὶ τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους αὐτοῦ σοφίσαι.
And Israel went into Egypt: and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Cham.Et intravit Israël in Aegyptum, et Iacob accola fuit in terra Cham.Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ Ἰακὼβ παρῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χάμ.
And he increased his people exceedingly: and strengthened them over their enemies,Et auxit populum suum vehementer, et firmavit eum super inimicos eius.Καὶ ηὔξησε τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ σφόδρα, καὶ ἐκραταίωσεν αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ.
He turned their heart to hate his people: and to deal deceitfully with his servants.Convertit cor eorum, ut odirent populum eius, et dolum facerent in servos eius.Καὶ μετέστρεψε τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν τοῦ μισῆσαι τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ, τοῦ δολιοῦσθαι ἐν τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ.
He sent Moses his servant: Aaron the man whom he had chosen.
He gave them power to shew his signs, and his wonders in the land of Cham.Posuit in eis verba signorum suorum, et prodigiorum in terra Cham.Ἔθετο ἐν αὐτοῖς τοὺς λόγους τῶν σημείων αὐτοῦ, καὶ τῶν τεράτων ἐν γῇ Χάμ.
He sent darkness, and made it obscure: and grieved not his words.
He turned their waters into blood, and destroyed their fish.Convertit aquas eorum in sanguinem, et occidit pisces eorum.Μετέστρεψε τὰ ὕδατα αὐτῶν εἰς αἷμα, καὶ ἀπέκτεινε τοὺς ἰχθύας αὐτῶν.
Their land brought forth frogs, in the inner chambers of their kings.Edidit terra eorum ranas in penetralibus regum ipsorum.Ἐξῆρψεν ἡ γῆ αὐτῶν βατράχους, ἐν τοῖς ταμείοις τῶν βασιλέων αὐτῶν.
He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies and sciniphs in all their coasts.Dixit, et venit coenomyia et ciniphes in omnibus finibus eorum.Εἶπε καὶ ἦλθε κυνόμυια, καὶ σκνίπες ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ὁρίοις αὐτῶν.
He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.Posuit pluvias eorum grandinem: ignem comburentem in terra ipsorum.Ἔθετο τὰς βροχὰς αὐτῶν χάλαζαν, πῦρ καταφλέγον ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν.
And he destroyed their vineyards and their fig trees: and he broke in pieces the trees of their coasts.
He spoke, and the locust came, and the bruchus, of which there was no number.Dixit, et venit locusta, et bruchus cuius non erat numerus:Εἶπε καὶ ἦλθεν ἀκρὶς, καὶ βροῦχος οὗ οὐκ ἦν ἀριθμὸς,
And they devoured all the grass in their land, and consumed all the fruit of their ground.et comedit omne foenum in terra eorum, et comedit omnem fructum terrae eorum.καὶ κατέφαγε πάντα τὸν χόρτον ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν, καὶ κατέφαγε τὸν καρπὸν τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν.
And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.Et percussit omne primogenitum in terra eorum, primitias omnis laboris eorum.Καὶ ἐπάταξε πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐκ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν, ἀπαρχὴν παντὸς πόνου αὐτῶν.
And he brought them out with silver and gold: and there was not among their tribes one that was feeble.Et eduxit eos cum argento et auro, et non erat in tribubus eorum infirmus.Καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἀργυρίῳ καὶ χρυσίῳ, καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἐν ταῖς φυλαῖς αὐτῶν ὁ ἀσθενῶν.
Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them lay upon them.Laetata est Aegyptus in profectione eorum, quia incubuit timor eorum super eos.Εὐφράνθη Αἴγυπτος ἐν τῇ ἐξόδῳ αὐτῶν, ὅτι ἐπέπεσεν ὁ φόβος αὐτῶν ἐπʼ αὐτούς.
He spread a cloud for their protection, and fire to give them light in the night.Expandit nubem in protectionem eorum, et ignem ut luceret eis per noctem.Διεπέτασε νεφέλην εἰς σκέπην αὐτοῖς, καὶ πῦρ τοῦ φωτίσαι αὐτοῖς τὴν νύκτα.
They asked, and the quail came: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and waters flowed: rivers ran down in the dry land.Dirupit petram, et fluxerunt aquae: abierunt in sicco flumina.Διέῤῥηξε πέτραν, καὶ ἐῤῥύησαν ὕδατα, ἐπορεύθησαν ἐν ἀνύδροις ποταμοί.
Because he remembered his holy word, which he had spoken to his servant Abraham.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.Et eduxit populum suum in exsultatione, et electos suos in laetitia.Καὶ ἐξήγαγε τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγαλλιάσει, καὶ τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ·
And he gave them the lands of the Gentiles: and they possessed the labours of the people:Et dedit illis regiones gentium, et labores populorum possederunt:Καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς χώρας ἐθνῶν, καὶ πόνους λαῶν ἐκληρονόμησαν.
That they might observe his justifications, and seek after his law.ut custodiant iustificationes eius, et legem eius requirant.Ὅπως ἂν φυλάξωσι τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὸν νόμον αὐτοῦ ἐκζητήσωσιν.
