Douay-RheimsVulgata ClementinaSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
1Come let us praise the Lord with joy: let us joyfully sing to God our saviour.Laus cantici ipsi David.
2Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.praeoccupemus faciem eius in confessione, et in psalmis iubilemus ei:Προφθάσωμεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐξομολογήσει, καὶ ἐν ψαλμοῖς ἀλαλάξωμεν αὐτῷ.
3For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.quoniam Deus magnus Dominus, et rex magnus super omnes deos.Ὅτι Θεὸς μέγας Κύριος, καὶ βασιλεὺς μέγας ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς θεούς·
4For in his hand are all the ends of the earth: and the heights of the mountains are his.Quia in manu eius sunt omnes fines terrae, et altitudines montium ipsius sunt;ὅτι οὐκ ἀπώσεται Κύριος τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ τὰ πέρατα τῆς γῆς, καὶ τὰ ὕψη τῶν ὀρέων αὐτοῦ ἐστιν.
5For the sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.quoniam ipsius est mare, et ipse fecit illud, et siccam manus eius formaverunt.Ὅτι αὐτοῦ ἐστιν ἡ θάλασσα καὶ αὐτὸς ἐποίησεν αὐτὴν, καὶ τὴν ξηρὰν χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἔπλασαν.
6Come let us adore and fall down: and weep before the Lord that made us.Venite, adoremus, et procidamus, et ploremus ante Dominum qui fecit nos:Δεῦτε προσκυνήσωμεν καὶ προσπέσωμεν αὐτῷ, καὶ κλαύσωμεν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ ποίησαντος ἡμᾶς.
7For he is the Lord our God: and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.quia ipse est Dominus Deus noster, et nos populus pascuae eius, et oves manus eius.Ὅτι αὐτός ἐστιν ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν, καὶ ἡμεῖς λαὸς νομῆς αὐτοῦ, καὶ πρόβατα χειρὸς αὐτοῦ·
8Today if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:Hodie si vocem eius audieritis, nolite obdurare corda vestraσήμερον ἐὰν τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσητε, μὴ σκληρύνητε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν, ὡς ἐν τῷ παραπικρασμῷ, κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ πικρασμοῦ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ,
9As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness: where your fathers tempted me, they proved me, and saw my works.sicut in irritatione, secundum diem tentationis in deserto, ubi tentaverunt me patres vestri: probaverunt me, et viderunt opera mea.οὗ ἐπείρασάν με οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν· ἐδοκίμασαν, καὶ εἶδον τὰ ἔργα μου.
10Forty years long was I offended with that generation, and I said: These always err in heart.
11And these men have not known my ways: so I swore in my wrath that they shall not enter into my rest.Et isti non cognoverunt vias meas: ut iuravi in ira mea: Si introibunt in requiem meam.Ὡς ὤμοσα ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ μου, εἰ εἰσελεύσονται εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσίν μου.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
