Douay-RheimsVulgata ClementinaSeptuagint (Sixtine edition, 1587)
Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself. In finem, pro torcularibus.
Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob.
Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.
Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.Buccinate in neomenia tuba, in insigni die solemnitatis vestrae:Σαλπίσατε ἐν νεομηνίᾳ σάλπιγγι, ἐν εὐσήμῳ ἡμέρᾳ ἑορτῆς ὑμῶν.
For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob.quia praeceptum in Israël est, et iudicium Deo Iacob.Ὅτι πρόσταγμα τῷ Ἰσραήλ ἐστι, καὶ κρίμα τῷ Θεῷ Ἰακώβ.
He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.Testimonium in Ioseph posuit illud, cum exiret de terra Aegypti; linguam quam non noverat, audivit.Μαρτύριον ἐν τῷ Ἰωσὴφ ἔθετο αὐτὸν, ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν αὐτὸν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου· γλῶσσαν ἣν οὐκ ἔγνω, ἤκουσεν.
He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.Divertit ab oneribus dorsum eius; manus eius in cophino servierunt.Ἀπέστησεν ἀπὸ ἄρσεων τὸν νῶτον αὐτοῦ· αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ κοφίνῳ ἐδούλευσαν.
Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction. In tribulatione invocasti me, et liberavi te.
Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,Audi, populus meus, et contestabor te.
There shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.non erit in te deus recens, neque adorabis deum alienum.οὐκ ἔσται ἐν σοὶ θεὸς πρόσφατος, οὐδὲ προσκυνήσεις θεῷ ἀλλοτρίῳ.
For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.Ego enim sum Dominus Deus tuus, qui eduxi te de terra Aegypti.
But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.Et non audivit populus meus vocem meam, et Israël non intendit mihi.Καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν ὁ λαός μου τῆς φωνῆς μου, καὶ Ἰσραὴλ οὐ προσέσχε μοι.
So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.Et dimisi eos secundum desideria cordis eorum; ibunt in adinventionibus suis.Καὶ ἐξαπέστειλα αὐτοὺς κατὰ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα τῶν καρδιῶν αὐτῶν, πορεύσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτηδεύμασιν αὐτῶν.
If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:Si populus meus audisset me, Israël si in viis meis ambulasset,Εἰ ὁ λαός μου ἤκουσέ μου, Ἰσραὴλ ταῖς ὁδοῖς μου εἰ ἐπορεύθη,
I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.pro nihilo forsitan inimicos eorum humiliassem, et super tribulantes eos misissem manum meam.ἐν τῷ μηδενὶ ἂν τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτῶν ἐταπείνωσα, καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς θλίβοντας αὐτοὺς ἐπέβαλον ἂν τὴν χεῖρά μου.
The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.Inimici Domini mentiti sunt ei, et erit tempus eorum in saecula.Οἱ ἐχθροὶ Κυρίου ἐψεύσαντο αὐτῷ, καὶ ἔσται ὁ καιρὸς αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα,
And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
