Job also added, taking up his parable, and said:Addidit quoque Iob, assumens parabolam suam, et dixit:Ἔτι δὲ προσθεὶς Ἰὼβ εἶπεν τῷ προοιμίῳ,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who hath brought my soul to bitterness,Vivit Deus, qui abstulit iudicium meum, et Omnipotens, qui ad amaritudinem adduxit animam meam.Ζῇ ὁ Θεὸς, ὃς οὕτω με κέκρικε, καὶ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁ πικράνας μου τὴν ψυχὴν,
As long as breath remaineth in me, and the spirit of God in my nostrils,Quia donec superest halitus in me, et spiritus Dei in naribus meis,εἰ μὴν ἔτι τῆς πνοῆς μου ἐνούσης, πνεῦμα δὲ θεῖον τὸ περιόν μοι ἐν ῥινὶ,
My lips shall not speak iniquity, neither shall my tongue contrive lying.non loquentur labia mea iniquitatem, nec lingua mea meditabitur mendacium.μὴ λαλήσειν τὰ χείλη μου ὄνομα, οὐδὲ ἡ ψυχή μου μελετήσει ἄδικα.
God forbid that I should judge you to be just: till I die I will not depart from my innocence.Absit a me ut iustos vos esse iudicem: donec deficiam, non recedam ab innocentia mea.Μή μοι εἴη δικαίους ὑμᾶς ἀποφῆναι ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνω, οὐ γὰρ ἀπαλλάξω μου τὴν ἀκακίαν μου.
My justification, which I have begun to hold, I will not forsake: for my heart doth not reprehend me in all my life.Iustificationem meam, quam coepi tenere, non deseram: neque enim reprehendit me cor meum in omni vita mea.Δικαιοσύνῃ δὲ προσέχων οὐ μὴν προῶμαι, οὐ γὰρ σύνοιδα ἐμαυτῷ ἄτοπα πράξας.
Let my enemy be as the ungodly, and my adversary as the wicked one.
For what is the hope of the hypocrite if through covetousness he take by violence, and God deliver not his soul?Quae est enim spes hypocritae, si avare rapiat, et non liberet Deus animam eius?Καὶ τίς γάρ ἐστιν ἐλπὶς ἀσεβεῖ, ὅτι ἐπέχει; πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ κύριον ἄρα σωθήσεται;
Will God hear his cry, when distress shall come upon him?
Or can he delight himself in the Almighty, and call upon God at all times?aut poterit in Omnipotente delectari, et invocare Deum omni tempore?μὴ ἔχει τινὰ παῤῥησίαν ἔναντι αὐτοῦ; ἢ ὡς ἐπικαλεσαμένου αὐτοῦ εἰσακούσεται αὐτοῦ;
I will teach you by the hand of God, what the Almighty hath, and I will not conceal it.Docebo vos per manum Dei quae Omnipotens habeat, nec abscondam.Ἀλλὰ δὴ ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν τί ἐστιν ἐν χειρὶ Κυρίου, ἅ ἐστι παρὰ παντοκράτορι, οὐ ψεύσομαι.
Behold you all know it, and why do you speak vain things without cause?
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the inheritance of the violent, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
If his sons be multiplied, they shall be for the sword, and his grandsons shall not be filled with bread.Si multiplicati fuerint filii eius, in gladio erunt, et nepotes eius non saturabuntur pane:Ἐὰν δἐ πολλοὶ γένωνται οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν, εἰς σφαγὴν ἔσονται· ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἀνδρωθῶσι, προσαιτήσουσιν.
They that shall remain of him, shall be buried in death, and his widows shall not weep.qui reliqui fuerint ex eo sepelientur in interitu, et viduae illius non plorabunt.Οἱ δὲ περιόντες αὐτοῦ ἐν θανάτῳ τελευτήσουσι, χήρας δὲ αὐτῶν οὐδεὶς ἐλεήσει.
If he shall heap together silver as earth, and prepare raiment as clay,Si comportaverit quasi terram argentum, et sicut lutum praeparaverit vestimenta:Ἐὰν συναγάγῃ ὥσπερ γῆν ἀργύριον, ἶσα δὲ πηλῷ ἑτοιμάσῃ χρυσίον,
He shall prepare indeed, but the just man shall be clothed with it: and the innocent shall divide the silver.praeparabit quidem, sed iustus vestietur illis, et argentum innocens dividet.ταῦτα πάντα δίκαιοι περιποιήσονται, τὰ δὲ χρήματα αὐτοῦ ἀληθινοὶ καθέξουσιν.
He hath built his house as a moth, and as a keeper he hath made a booth.
The rich man when he shall sleep shall take away nothing with him: he shall open his eyes and find nothing.
Poverty like water shall take hold on him, a tempest shall oppress him in the night.
A burning wind shall take him up, and carry him away, and as a whirlwind shall snatch him from his place.
And he shall cast upon him, and shall not spare: out of his hand he would willingly flee.
He shall clasp his hands upon him, and shall hiss at him, beholding his place.

Jesus laments over Jerusalem, which kills the prophets

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
