Joatham was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Jerusa the daughter of Sadoc.Viginti quinque annorum erat Ioatham cum regnare coepisset, et sedecim annis regnavit in Ierusalem: nomen matris eius Ierusa filia Sadoc.Υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν Ἰωάθαμ ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν, καὶ ἑκκαίδεκα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ, καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Ἱερουσὰ θυγάτηρ Σαδώκ.
And he did that which was right before the Lord, according to all that Ozias his father had done, only that he entered not into the temple of the Lord, and the people still transgressed.
He built the high gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.Ipse aedificavit portam domus Domini excelsam, et in muro Ophel multa construxit.Αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησε τὴν πύλην οἴκου Κυρίου τὴν ὑψηλὴν, καὶ ἐν τείχει Ὀπέλ ᾠκοδόμησε πολλὰ,
Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Juda, and castles and towers in the forests.Urbes quoque aedificavit in montibus Iuda, et in saltibus castella et turres.ἐν ὄρει Ἰούδα, καὶ ἐν τοῖς δρυμοῖς καὶ οἰκήσεις καὶ πύργους.
Ho fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and overcame them, and the children of Ammon gave him at that time a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and as many measures of barley: so much did the children of Ammon give him in the second and third year.Ipse pugnavit contra regem filiorum Ammon, et vicit eos, dederuntque ei filii Ammon in tempore illo centum talenta argenti, et decem millia coros tritici, ac totidem coros hordei: haec ei praebuerunt filii Ammon in anno secundo et tertio.Αὐτὸς ἐμαχέσατο πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Ἀμμὼν, καὶ κατίσχυσεν ἐπʼ αὐτόν· καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἀμμὼν καὶ κατʼ ἐνιαυτὸν ἑκατὸν τάλαντα ἀργυρίου, καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας κόρων πυροῦ, καὶ κριθῶν δέκα χιλιάδας· ταῦτα ἔφερεν αὐτῷ βασιλεὺς υἱῶν Ἀμμὼν κατʼ ἐνιαυτὸν ἐν τῷ πρώτῳ ἔτει καὶ ἐν τῷ δευτέρῳ καὶ τῷ τρίτῳ.
And Joatham was strengthened, because he had his way directed before the Lord his God.Corroboratusque est Ioatham, eo quod direxisset vias suas coram Domino Deo suo.Κατίσχυσεν Ιωάθαμ, ὅτι ἡτοίμασεν τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐναντίον Κυρίου Θεοῦ αὐτοῦ.
Now the rest of the acts of Joatham, and all his wars, and his works, are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Juda.Reliqua autem sermonum Ioatham, et omnes pugnae eius et opera, scripta sunt in libro regum Israël et Iuda.Καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ λόγοι Ἰωάθαμ καὶ ὁ πόλεμος καὶ αἱ πράξεις αὐτοῦ, ἰδοὺ γεγραμμέναι ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ βασιλέων Ἰούδα καὶ Ἰσραήλ.
He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.Viginti quinque annorum erat cum regnare coepisset, et sedecim annis regnavit in Ierusalem.—
And Joatham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.Dormivitque Ioatham cum patribus suis, et sepelierunt eum in civitate David: et regnavit Achaz filius eius pro eo.Καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ἰωάθαμ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυὶδ, καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ἄχαζ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντʼ αὐτοῦ.

The same day, there came some of the Pharisees, saying to him: Depart, and get thee hence, for Herod hath a mind to kill thee. And he said to them: Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and…
