Aleph. He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, and not into light.Aleph Me minavit, et adduxit in tenebras, et non in lucem.Παρέλαβέ με καὶ ἀπήγαγέ με εἰς σκότος, καὶ οὐ φῶς.
Aleph. Only against me he hath turned, and turned again his hand all the day.Aleph Tantum in me vertit et convertit manum suam tota die.Πλὴν ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐπέστρεψε χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν,
Beth. My skin and my flesh he hath made old, he hath broken my bones.Beth Vetustam fecit pellem meam et carnem meam; contrivit ossa mea.ἐπαλαίωσε σάρκα μου καὶ δέρμα μου, ὀστέα μου συνέτριψεν.
Beth. He hath built round about me, and he hath compassed me with gall and labour.Beth Aedificavit in gyro meo, et circumdedit me felle et labore.ΒΗΘ. Ἀνῳκοδόμησε κατʼ ἐμοῦ, καὶ ἐκύκλωσε κεφαλήν μου, καὶ ἐμόχθησεν·

Ghimel. Yea, and when I cry, and entreat, he hath shut out my prayer.Ghimel Sed et cum clamavero, et rogavero, exclusit orationem meam.ΓΙΜΕΛ. Καί γε κεκράξομαι καὶ βοήσω, ἀπέφραξε προσευχήν μου.
Ghimel. He hath shut up my ways with square stones, he hath turned my paths upside down.Ghimel Conclusit vias meas lapidibus quadris; semitas meas subvertit.ΔΑΛΕΘ. Ἀνῳκοδόμησεν ὁδούς μου, ἐνέφραξε τρίβους μου,
Daleth. He is become to me as a bear lying in wait: as a lion in secret places.Daleth Ursus insidians factus est mihi, leo in absconditis.ἐτάραξεν ἄρκος ἐνεδρεύουσα, αὐτός μοι λέων ἐν κρυφαίοις,
Daleth. He hath turned aside my paths, and hath broken me in pieces, he hath made me desolate.Daleth Semitas meas subvertit, et confregit me; posuit me desolatam.κατεδίωξεν ἀφεστηκότα, καὶ κατέπαυσέ με, ἔθετό με ἠφανισμένην.
